The apartment is very well situated and enables you to live like a local. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were superbly comfortable. The apartment is well designed with plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space and for it's size the kitchen is really well equipped.
You can easily walk everywhere - to the Villas Monastero and Cipressi, to the castle Vezio (take the route via the Ferry area even though that is still quite a climb, but not so narrow or with sheer drops like the route starting on the way to the Cemetery). Also Flumiette waterfall - take the walk starting at the steps before the Cemetery. Go in the Tourist Info Center in the square and ask about the scenic walk starting by the Castille de Vezio to Perlodo.
Trips on the ferries to Villa Carlotta and Lenno Villa - also well worth the trip.
This is one of the most reasonably priced apartments in Varenna (which is generally on the pricey side). You will not regret staying here and Marilena is really helpful and will pick you up and take you back to the train station. And take you to the nearest large supermarket in Bellano for your weekly shop!
