Far off the beaten, this House of 90 m 2, built by my grandparents (1929), is on the seafront in Þórshöfn, active fishing village at the foot of Langanes. Sunsets and incomparable midnight sun.
The House is located at 50 m from the sea in a fishing village of 350 inhabitants. Despite its small size, all necessary shops are available in the village including shop, bar and restaurant, swimming pool and sauna, post office, Bank and gas station for 5 min walk from the House. Traditional House of 90 m 2 with sea views, two storey with 3 bedrooms for 4 persons. On the first floor: bedroom with double bed. Ground floor: Lounge, kitchen/diner fully equipped, a large bedroom with single bed, a small bedroom with sofa bed, bathroom with shower, WC, utility room with washing machine. Other crew: hair dryer, Iron Ironing Board, Bike ATV etc. Heating by electric heaters. There are three bedrooms, one with double bed, one with a single bed, and one with a sofa bed. There are also two inflatable mattresses that can be used in a fourth room now empty. We ask a supplement of 20 Euros for the 3 bed sheets.
Langanes is one of the best places in Iceland for bird watching, and the view on the Bay offers sunsets and incomparable midnight sun. Northeastern offers tranquillity in a wild landscape with access to the tourist attractions of Mývatn, Dettifoss, Asbyrg, Húsavík etc. Excellent fishing in the sea or in rivers and Lakes (salmon and trout). Discover the history of Langanes through the ruins of old farmhouses, Skalar - an abandoned fishing village and the Museum of Saudanes.
Thorshofn (Þórshöfn) is accessible by road (bus from Akureyri or Husavik), sea or by air. There is one flight per day from Monday to Friday from Akureyri (8-seat aircraft).
