Messenano is a village resonant of ancient times and is itself a timeless place, steeped in authentic and pristine antiquity with architecture belonging to the 12th Century while inhabited and lovingly restored by 21st Century visionaries. When staying in the village, guests can enjoy a true off-the-beaten-path experience along with famous Umbrian hospitality. Guests are welcome to fully integrate into the social, cultural and gastronomic way of village life here. The experience in Messenano is a new, old-fashioned way to stay in Italy where the natural beauty of the landscape and medieval architecture provides a lush backdrop to a unique and unforgettable stay which allows each guest to discover their own personal and emotional connection to the area. The country house offers many of the same services available in a traditional hotel while allowing each guest the chance to feel emersed in the daily rhythms typical of the place. The hiking and touring in the immediate area allows visitors to have a holiday that is both relaxing and invigorating.

The medieval castle, built in the thirteenth century is currently high and mighty tower that is the pigeon so called towers of the buildings in Umbria and the Romanesque church of St. Apollinaris of the eleventh Century. Devotion to St. Apollinaris, confirms the influence of the seventh century Lomgobard Dukes of Ravenna. Church built in one aisle, with a belfry, affresco shows the left side of the eighteenth century, while to the right a little and very old tabernacle. In the churchyard are the remains of some Roman columns, as well as several large stones from the Roman period which suggest that the town has developed in the Middle Ages on the ruins of a Roman building, even pagan, dedicated to the God Mars. The mountainous territory is still called Mars's Mountains. The castle was surrounded by massive walls and towers, of the ancient walls of protection today we can see only a tower, used until 1800 as an ossuary, the medieval gates to the castle and the steps are still passable. Underground tunnels and passage ways not open to the public. Great Towns like Spoleto Todi Assisi Perugia Spello Orvieto are easy to reach! The best fall in Europe Marmore's Falls are 30 minuts drive far
