What makes this boathouse so unique is giving the experience of a small holiday home, were the land and the sea meet. Trágalée is located at the waterfront and offers complete privacy. If looking for luxury this is not your holiday home though. What you DO find is a basic accommodation on a superb location: seals basking on the rocks, boats sailing by, and a direct access to the water from the strand to swim, use the canoes or stay behind at the strand to collect mussels, clams and shrimps. The house is overlooking the bay (Coulagh Bay) and gives stunning views. Use of the sea Kayaks is included in the rent: one single kayak and one double kayak.

The Pearl of the Ring of Beara: the village of Eyeries is approx a 15 min drive. It is famous for its many colorful houses. It has one supermarket and a post office with a shop for all your daily needs. There is also a restaurant with an excellent reputation (serves Vegan too). In summertime the local pubs offer life music in the weekends. Castletownbere (16km) is the main shopping town of Beara with a variety of pubs, shops and restaurants. The beautiful cliff walk along the Beara Way, passing Ireland’s highest Ogham stone to Ballycrovane Harbour is only 10 minutes walking. It’s totally safe for the local fishing boats and occasional tourist yachts. Beyond is the mythical stone Hag of Beara and Kilcatherine’s church ruin with its stone carvings and priest’s hideaway, and again beautiful sea views. The boathouse is between Ballycrovane harbor and the stone hag of Beara. In a short scenic drive you will get to Glengariff with oak forests and Garnish Island gardens (50km). The picturesque town of Kenmare (40km) is the perfect location from which to discover the South West of Ireland, linking the internationally famous Ring of Kerry with the rugged Ring of Beara. It is also the gateway to the lakes and mountains of Killarney (80km). There are over 20 fishing spots signposted on the Beara coastline. No permit is needed as this is sea fishing.
