Wanlockhead is Scotland’s highest village sitting at 1531 feet above sea level at the head of the Mennock pass; perfectly located for access to the Southern Upland Way, visiting local attractions or just a quite relaxing stay is one the Scotland’s most idyllic locations. The friendly village pub is only 2 minutes’ walk away. The playpark is also only a few minutes away. The Museum of Lead Mining and Tearoom is also only a couple of minutes from the house - open Easter to September only.
Wanlockhead is only 50 Mins from Glasgow, 1 hour from Edinburgh and 1 hour from Carlisle. Approx 20 minutes from the M74 J13/J14.If travelling from A702/M74 when you get to Wanlockhead take the first right turn into the village and Belton House is the 1st house on your left hand side. From the A76 follow the B797 into Wanlockhead follow road through village till nearly out the village and take a left turn Belton House is the 2nd house on your left
