The salon is a comfortable, light and airy room with wonderful views. It has a mixture of both new and antique furniture including a large dining table and chairs. Its black liner gives the impression of swimming in beautiful dark blue water. It has in-pool lighting. There is a large wooden decked area with long views over the countryside. There is a pergola with a table and chairs, two parasols and four comfortable reclining chairs. We provide a gas barbecue for outdoor cooking. The gite provides the ideal base to investigate vineyards, local history and markets or just chill out and recharge your batteries. We provide a welcome pack of food and wine for you. We have tried to help the environment by installing geothermal heating and solar panels.

The Clunysois is an area in Saône-et-Loire, southern Burgundy. It has a varied landscape, interesting history, excellent gastronomy with prestigious mâconnais wines, charolais beef and wonderful architectural sites. There are several abbeys to visit nearby, eg Tournus, Cluny and Paray-le-Monial. The abbey at Cluny was one of the most important religious complexes in medieval times. The Haras National de Cluny was created by Napoleon in the 19C century to breed horses for battle campaigns. Today it still has breeding stallions and a museum of horse-drawn vehicles. The Roche de Solutré is a rocky outcrop that was occupied in prehistoric times, it is a tough walk to the top but the view is terrific. The 17C Château at Cormatin has richly decorated apartments, old kitchens, splendid gardens etc. At Berzé-le-Chatel there is a mediaeval fortress built to protect the Abbey of Cluny and has a panoramic view over the vineyards. The Chateau de Drée has 17/18 C classical architecture and the surrounding gardens are truly wonderful. The Musée du Compagnonnage at Romanèche-Thorins displays the history of the French guilds for building and construction trades with fascinating examples of master carpenters' work. Near Dompierre-les-Ormes is the Galerie Européenne de la Forêt et du Bois, interesting to learn about trees and products in wood. There is a lovely walk though the trees around the lake nearby.
