Description "Le Four à Sel" Gîte - Self Catering in Montignac
This delightful renovated farmhouse is located just 2 km from Montignac and Lascaux caves,& 30 minutes from Sarlat & many Dordogne sites in a peaceful setting away from the crowds. It is one of 3 holiday homes at Le Four a Sel, a stunning riverside property of 15 acres with fabulous views. The house is suitable for 2 families to share with 2 double bedrooms ,one of which is ensuite,2 more bedrooms each with 2 single beds. The kitchen is well equipped,the dining room has table & chairs for 8 . The lounge has TV with french & English satellite channels . The garden has outdoor furniture and BBQ. The area around the houses, pool & garden is fenced. Sufficient onsite facilities mean you don't need to go sight seeing everyday. There is a pool(fenced & alarmed) ,Courtyard for Boules & Badminton; Table Tennis , outdoor playground, free Wifi,parking . All rooms have electric heaters,and a woodburner stove in the lounge for the cooler months.

We are in the Perigord Noir, Dordogne, Southwest France. This is the region of a 1001 castles/chateau like Beynac, Hautefort, Losse, Castlenaud which are 30 minutes away. Chateau Sauveboeuf is just 10minutes walk and 2 more chateaux are 15 min drive. Many beautiful villages like Domme, Roque Gageac are 30 minutes away as well as prehistoric caves. Lascaux in Montignac is only 5 minutes away and Font de Gaume is 30 minutes. Ideal for exploring the dordogne, and many cycling and walking paths nearby. Golf courses are 40 minutes away. There are several lakes nearby for fishing; there is waterpark 40 minutes away with waterslides; several horseriding stables. There is a tennis court within 15 minutes drive and a small beach 25 minutes away.
