What makes the cottage so unique is the view of Bantry Bay and its quiet setting, yet it is only 5 minutes drive from the village of Castletownbere.

The cottage can cater for up to 7 people (3 double beds and 1 single bed). This 100 year old cottage has kept some of its traditional features, yet has been updated to make your stay more comfortable. Heating is via a log fire, oil heating and also there is solar heating. We have kept the old stonework on the exterior of the cottage. The kitchen has all the modern facilities including a dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. People like the peace and quiet of the area which is why we have regular visitors who come back again. It is very good value as the price includes moderate use of heating and electricity. We supply towels and bed linen as well as firewood for the log fire for those cosy nights in. Pictures do not do the cottage justice. It has to be seen to be believed.
The cottage is set amid the hills with its own private entrance. It is the ideal base for a relaxing holiday. It is situated on the Beara Peninsula which is bordered by the waters of Bantry Bay, Kenmare Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, near the Cork/Kerry border. The Beara Peninsula is dominated by the Caha Mountains and it is an area of great scenic unspoilt beauty with its rugged coastline, rocky mountains and lakes. There is a 9 hole Golf course nearby and there are loads of walking routes along the Beara Way. There are many archaeological sites dotted around Beara and it is a favourite haunt for bird watchers and walkers who enjoy uncommercialised natural beauty.
The cottage is located approx 3 km from Castletownbere. A car is the ideal way to get around to see the peninsula. However for those who like to walk or cycle then this is the place to be. Cork Airport is about 2 hours drive away. There are also regular buses to Castletownbere.
