Bialowieza, our rural house, at the old high road of TISZYNA, is located in the Podlasie region, in the village of Rutka, in the municipality of Dubicze Cerkiewne, on the edge of the Bialowieza forest, at the old road leading from Bielsko Podlaskie to Kamenyets (Belarus). The oldest residents call it the old Hostynciom (old Route). The first mention of Rutce dates back to 1576 and its name is associated with the mining of the ore, from which the iron is melted.
